Whether you've got a three-day weekend coming up that you want to take advantage of or you're looking for a getaway from San Angelo, we have some suggestions to make the most of your weekend trip.

1. Perini Ranch in Buffalo Gap

Just 1.5 hours from San Angelo in Buffalo Gap. Perini Ranch Steakhouse is well known for its chuck wagon-style food. They have been featured in Texas Highways, Texas Monthly, on Good Morning America, the Today Show and have even catered the Congressional Picnic for the White House. The owner/chef has traveled internationally to Japan, Poland & Russia to promote Texas Beef. 3. Kerrville Texas

Just two hours from San Angelo is lively Kerrville Texas. This hill country town offers something for everyone. Enjoy scenery, golf, wine, entertainment, shopping, food and art. You decide.


4. Boerne, Texas

Just under 3 hours from San Angelo is Boerne, Texas. This charming hill country town offers action and adventure, arts, farmers markets, golf, museums, horseback riding, kids activities & nightlife. You will need more than one weekend here.


5. Fredericksburg, Texas

Just over two hours from San Angelo and depending on the time of year you choose to go there is a lot to do in this little town. Many of you have probably been here but it is always worth the trip. You choose the experience. There are great B&B’s, award-winning wineries, restaurants, shops, the National Museum of the Pacific War as well as the nearby LBJ Ranch. Springtime the wildflowers are on display and the third weekend of every month shoppers will be overwhelmed by Fredericksburg Trade Days. Always something to do and always worth the trip.

5. Sonora, Texas

A short one hour drive from San Angelo is Sonora Texas. This is a fun family day trip where you can explore the world-famous Caverns of Sonora, hike the Eaton Hill Nature Center  Preserve, discover tales of wild west outlaws & lawmen & stroll historic downtown Sonora.
